Introducing: ThisIsDA

ThisIsDA

ThisisDA (pronounced This is D.A.) is an 18 year old English Hip-hop artist, originally from London now based in Bristol.

Likened to the rap styles of Lupe Fiasco and Dizzee Rascal, ThisisDA is also an experienced performer, having hit local stages at countless events. One of which, notably, on the BBC Introducing stage at Brisfest in September 2012, which subsequently earned him support from the Introducing Bristol radio station. By the following month he appeared as a supporting act for prominent UK Urban artist Tinchy Stryder at the press opening of a new youth centre in Bristol. During the closing week of that year, the rap singer was featured as the Spotlight Artist on the BBC Asian Network’s Kan D Man & Dj Limelight show, where they played his late 2012 release, ‘’03 Until’. In the months following this, ‘Demise’ – which was interpreted as his most “intriguing and mature track yet” (Fake Walls music blog) – was broadcast and remained on Yasser’s BBC Asian Network playlist for 3 consecutive weeks, before being aired on BBC Introducing in the West Country. DA’s mid-2013 release ‘Ragz 2 Riches’ was also premiered on the same BBC Introducing station after being requested by various users on Twitter for their ‘Best in the West’ show special.

More recently, the rapper has been featured on various music blog sites across the globe, including Chris Brown’s official website ‘Mechanical Dummy’ for G’Mix of the Week as well as renowned online music magazine, Earmilk, who praised DA for his originality. His long awaited debut album release entitled ‘Super Arkane’ is due to be released sometime later this year.
