Halftime Whistle Seeks Writers

Halftime Whistle

“Do you like football? Are you a budding journalist who wants to write about the beautiful game?

Halftime Whistle is a new, FREE football magazine launching in London in the coming football season and we need YOUR help.

Have a look at our preview edition at http://www.halftimewhistle.co.uk

We will be distributing 20,000 magazines on Saturday match days at Premiership grounds across the capital, as well as to our affiliated ‘football’ pub network, student unions and businesses.

We are currently recruiting for further contributors to write some our feature articles.

Professional experience is not essential but you will need to demonstrate a high level of writing proficiency through example articles. This can be previous work, or preferably an article suitable for our 2013/14 season preview edition which goes live on August 3rd at the Emirates tournament. If choosing the latter, can this be between 500-800 words. Who knows? It might just make it in!

Your writing style will need to be able to reflect the essence of our brand; formal and informative but interesting and funny all-the-while. Read the articles ‘La Bonne Vie’ on page 9, and ‘The Roy Carroll Rollercoaster’ on page 18 as a guideline for the sort of thing we would expect.

This position could suit freelance professional journalists or budding student journalists. As long as the work is good enough you will be considered. You don’t have to be in London, either – you can do this from home just as long as our strict deadlines and word counts are adhered to.”
